On November 23, 2024, I had the privilege of serving as a panel speaker at the USBCCI Business Expo 2024, held at the prestigious New York LaGuardia Airport Marriott. Bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and experts, this expo provided an unparalleled platform to discuss “Supply Chain Collaboration Across Borders in Export-Import Markets.

About the Event

The USBCCI Business Expo 2024 provided a platform for discussing critical topics in global supply chain management and eCommerce. It served as a hub for industry professionals to collaborate, exchange ideas, and explore innovative solutions to today’s challenges in export-import markets.

As part of a distinguished panel, I had the opportunity to share insights alongside experts like George Rodack, Md M Hossain (Elite), and Anisul Islam Murad. The session was expertly moderated by Sheik Farhad, whose skillful guidance ensured a productive and engaging discussion.

Key Insights from the Seminar

The event covered a variety of pressing topics shaping the future of supply chain management and eCommerce:

✅ Cross-border eCommerce, with a special focus on domestic goods for the North American market.

✅ Supply Chain Efficiency, stressing the importance of collaboration among suppliers, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to optimize logistics and ensure compliance.

✅ Leveraging technologies like AI, blockchain, and IoT to enhance transparency, security, and efficiency in logistics.

✅ Strategies for Amazon seller inventory management and navigating future trends in the export-import sector.

Key Takeaways for Entrepreneurs

During the panel, I shared actionable advice for newcomers to the eCommerce space:
Learn from scratch—As a newcomer in e-commerce, you need to learn from scratch.

  • Start small—invest your money in research to identify winning items. Use a personal Amazon account to test the market and scale up to a business account as sales grow.

  • Target niche markets, like Bangladeshi buyers interested in domestic goods. Even testing with 50 units can provide valuable insights.

  • Be strategic with product selection—success depends on sourcing methods, inventory management, and market demand.

  • Sell branded products with high search volume to drive organic traffic. Amazon rewards competitive pricing, quality images, and compelling content, giving new sellers a foothold in competitive markets.

When the host asked if I provided training, I replied, “I am not a trainer, but a business strategist. There’s a wealth of learning materials online for beginners. My focus is on helping businesses scale and achieve sustainable growth in eCommerce.”

A Special Experience

This expo wasn’t just an opportunity to share insights—it was also a chance to connect with inspiring individuals. From networking with incredible business leaders to reconnecting with my childhood friend far from home, the experience was truly memorable.

A Note of Gratitude

Alhamdulillah—All praises to Allah—for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful event. Thank you to USBCCI for organizing this impactful platform, and to my fellow panelists George Rodack, Md M Hossain (Elite), and Anisul Islam Murad for sharing their expertise. A special thank you to Sheik Farhad for moderating the session so skillfully.

Events like the USBCCI Business Expo highlight the transformative power of collaboration and innovation in shaping the future of global trade. They create opportunities to exchange ideas, build connections, and foster growth among businesses worldwide.

I look forward to many more opportunities to share, learn, and grow with this vibrant community. If you’re exploring opportunities in eCommerce, let’s connect to unlock your business potential!

A Thought from the Speaker

“Success in eCommerce isn’t one-size-fits-all. A product might be profitable for me, might not be profitable for you—it totally depends on how you source and manage it.”
